Crisis Intervention Team International Seeks Presenters for March Conference

Criminal justice professionals, advocates, families and consumers urged to submit presentation proposals
Crisis Intervention Team International announced a Call for Presentations for its conference on September 12 -14, 2011 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. CIT International works with law enforcement and mental health organizations, as well as the mentally ill and their families, promoting collaborative efforts to reduce the stigma of mental illness. CIT International helps various organizations work on public safety issues.The dateline for submission is March 31, 2011.

The Memphis Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) created a nationally recognized program that trains police on how to respond to those in a mental health crisis. The program, also known as the “Memphis Model,” serves as a pre-arrest diversion, allowing police to effectively assist those in crisis.
