Prisons of Poverty: Uncovering the Pre-Incarceration Incomes of the Imprisoned
Date:  09-24-2019

Report provides information on the role that poverty and opportunity play prior to incarceration
From Prison Policy Initiative:

Our report finds that incarcerated people are disproportionately shut out of the economy even before they are locked up. Prisons of Poverty provides the pre-incarceration incomes of incarcerated men and women by race and ethnicity and provides comparisons to the incomes of similarly aged non-incarcerated people. The report is the first to provide national data on the pre-incarceration incomes of incarcerated women.
