Ex-Incarcerated People Organizing (EXPO) and A New Way of Life joined forces to make this home possible. Reentry housing is desperately needed across America, according to organizers.
"We invest so much in incarceration and punishment, and very little in rehabilitation and reentry," said Susan Burton, A New Way of Life Founder.
Organizers say a lack of access to housing is a primary driver of recidivism.
