Tennessee County Receives Nearly $1 Million to Help Formerly Incarcerated People Obtain Housing

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Shelby County Office of Re-entry was awarded nearly $1 million to provide safe and affordable housing and comprehensive services for formerly incarcerated individuals.

SCOR received a $999,101 grant from the US Department of Justice’s Smart Reentry: Housing Demonstration Program.

The grant will help fund the Office of Re-Entry’s Returning Neighbors Program, which aims to form a task force to assess and address policy barriers to obtaining stable housing after release, expand partnerships to increase housing options and develop affordable housing solutions.
