Just City, a Non-Profit Organization, Launches $50K Bail Initiative Honoring Rockez McDaniel, Who Died in Custody

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Shelby County non-profit is demanding immediate changes to the jail and court system at 201 Poplar following the in-custody death of Rockez McDaniel, a 33-year-old man who suffered a medical emergency while awaiting a court appearance.

Just City, an organization that advocates for criminal justice reform and posts bail for inmates facing low-level charges, announced a new initiative Friday called the Rockez McDaniel Bailout.
