WASHINGTON (7News) — A new study on juvenile violent crime in D.C. points to coordinated investments in trauma-informed supports, opportunities and accountability as ways to reduce these crimes.

The 67-page report was commissioned by the D.C. Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) to help better understand these crimes in the District by centering the voices of those most affected: youth, families, community members, community-based organizations and agency representatives. CJCC is a council of District and federal executive, judicial and legislative branch leaders seeking to identify challenges and generate solutions to enhance public safety and justice system operations for D.C.
