The Prison and Justice Writing Program at PEN America has announced its Incarcerated Writers Bureau.

The bureau, announced on Tuesday, Nov. 25, is a digital resource to make professional and creative opportunities more accessible to writers in United States prisons.

The Incarcerated Writers Bureau currently has 21 participants from 12 states, including Washington, Michigan, New York, California, Minnesota, Idaho, Wisconsin, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, Massachusetts and Kentucky.

The Incarcerated Writers Bureau offers valuable information about working with and supporting writers in prison. It also includes a database for publishers who want to spotlight people from the incarcerated community. Continue reading >>>
