CLAREMORE, Okla. — She Brews Coffee & Transition Program has opened a larger coffee house in downtown Claremore, expanding its efforts to help women transitioning out of the justice system rebuild their lives.
The nonprofit operates a coffee house and roastery that provides job training and workforce experience for women leaving incarceration. Leaders say the larger location will allow the organization to serve more participants.
"One of the biggest impacts I see with the women that we get to work with is the fact that they get their children back out of DHS systems or out of NOK," founder Rhonda Bear said.
Bear said reuniting mothers with their children is one of the organization's primary goals. She said helping women find stable employment and housing can improve family stability after incarceration.
