The National Reentry Resource Center has announced the completion of a massive undertaking which was developed by the Urban Institute (UI), along with the Prisoner Reentry Institute (PRI) of John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Easy access to information on the most effective reentry programs and practices in America is now available to practitioners, service providers and researchers.
The National Reentry Resource Center (NRRC) reports that the UI looked through 2,500 publications and, using specific criteria for eligibility, began to “weed out” those found ineligible. According to the NRRC, researchers then began to code eligible studies and sorted them into areas of Employment, Housing, Mental Health, and Brand Name programs. The UI is currently working on the inclusion more effective programs for the “What Works in Reentry Clearinghouse.
