Glenn E. Martin, Director of the Fortune Society's David Rothenberg Center for Public Policy (DRCPP), announced that the organization is conducting a new survey “on access to supportive housing for individuals with criminal records.”
DRCPP stated, “HUD policy disallows individuals that have been in an institution, including prison or jail from receiving HUD supported homelessness assistance upon release. These changes frustrate reentry efforts for many people who are in dire need of a stable place to lay their heads while they reconnect to communities.
The survey is designed for housing providers, corrections officials and other service providers that have insight on these issues. Please help us by taking a few moments to complete this Housing Provider Survey so that we can build a better case to advocate on this urgent situation.”
